I recall back way back in the seventies when I was a kid going to grade school back on Parkville and Langelier. So vivid was the reality that Quebecers really fought hard for the respect and cultural acceptance in Canada. I would admit. Even as a first generation West Indian born into a new opportunity as what my family called it then, I would remember the stiff discussions at the dinner table about how uncivilized and potentially racist the Quebecers were during the 1976 referendum. ...so I decided for myself to check out all the shock and awe regarding the now simmered Quebec tuition protest aka student strike in Montreal to get me some public opinion ..... ;as well as take a late night drive with cab driver in the now so called new red light district rumoured to now ready for business in the east end of Montreal. Montrealers have waited patiently for nearly 3 years as the newly revamped corner of Ste.Catherine and St.Laurent has been reconstructed for tourist to feel a walk safe route going west to Place des Arts /Montreal Festival de Jazz. As I frequently visit my family in La Belle Province (previously and finally selling out to what greener pastures I could find out west as an ...actor lets say), I always have a moment of nostalgia that my conscious mind swells to tears remembering trials and favored moments..
